NaNoWriMo is coming up soon. And I’m looking forward to it big time. Although with all the classes I’m taking for work, and the baby, I’m wondering if I’ll be able to pull it off. But I’ve learned that the busier you are, the more you manage to get done. I think it’s a momentum thing.
I actually worked on some editing the other day. When I sat down to do it, I discovered that the file on my computer was not the current one. So I had to find the disk with the real file. And now my percentage is going to be all screwed up, too. When I originally printed it out for editing (because I can’t edit straight on the computer), I printed it in tiny font, with two pages on a piece of paper. Don’t ask me why. I’m going with temporary insanity. Editing was gonig super slow because I’d get a headache from the tiny type whenever I worked on it. So, I reprinted the last half that I hadn’t gotten to yet, and tossed the tiny print pages. The problem is, as I edit, the number of pages in my word document changes. So I was basing my percentages off of how many of the printed pages I’d edited. But that’s all changed now too. So I’m just going to have to go based on the word document pages, even though it’s a drastically lower number. Which sucks. It’s much less uplifting. But maybe it’ll give me a boot to the rear. I’d really like to work on the Mansion 2, but I’m trying to be strict on myself and not let myself do the fun stuff until I’ve done the teeth-grinding, my eyes want to fall out, boring stuff. It’s funny. I don’t mind editing and revision nearly so much when I’m going through other people’s stuff.
Editing Progress: 29% (See what I mean about it being much smaller)
